Study on the Effectiveness of English Counterargument and Refutation Writing and Reasons for Its Ineffectiveness in New TEM4

为提高新TEM4英语反驳写作的有效性,对159份低年级英语专业学生新TEM4模拟写作的编码文本分析发现学生找到应反驳观点的数量不多,指出对立面观点缺点或错误的有效性有待提高,无效反驳写作内容言及其他、误解原文、歪曲事实、提出建议,其中以言及其他最为常见。

In order to enhance the effectiveness of refutation writing in new TEM4,by text coding analysis of 159 simulated new TEM4 compositions of first-year English majors,the paper finds that few students can find opinions supposed to be refuted,that the quality of their counterargument and refutation requires improvement and that the content of their ineffective counterargument and refutation shows divergence and misunderstanding of the original text,distortion of the fact or improper proposal,with divergence of the original text most prevalent.
