Chinese and Western embroidery art has gone through a long period of time and formed unique artistic styles.This paper analyzed and compared their artistic characteristics,expressions of moral,influences of painting and religion on them and the development direction in future.It pointed out that the developments and inheritances of embroidery art should learn from each other which was based on keeping their own characteristics.
