Kenya,the heart of Africa,has the English literature which is valuable but has long been neglected.Rooted in diverse tribal cultures and drawing on the excellent literary experience of the west,Kenyan English literature has developed a unique literary form.It has gone through a difficult path of struggle and undergone three important stages including the period of rudiment,development and maturity.It jumps out from the tribal literature,inquires increasingly in the historical problems,and criticizes on the realistic contradictions.Kenyan English literature,with its unique aesthetic charm and fighting spirit,deserves an in-depth study.It is necessary to sort out its development process from the beginning and carry on academic research to it.
