全球史在德国的兴起与现状

Global History in Germany

本文介绍了奥斯特哈默、康拉德、夏德明、斯蒂芬·贝格尔和马蒂亚斯·米德尔等一批活跃在国际舞台上的德国全球史家的学术背景和学术作品,以及德国全球史的研究机构和学术刊物,以期读者对全球史在德国的发展脉络有一个清晰的认识。在此基础上,我们总结了德国全球史在殖民史和区域研究方面的两个特点。全球史固然兴起于美国,但德国全球史有着自身的特点,这说明全球史在不同地区有着不同的表现。当然,德国的全球史在本质上仍然是“全球性”的。德国全球史家通过多种方式与英美学界进行互动和自我调适,使得德国的全球史在国际上保持着一定的存在感。这一点,对于全球史方兴未艾的中国学界而言,或许是具有启发性的。

This article is a survey of the state of global historical studies in Germany.It first introduces the academic background and works of some world-famous global historians in the country,such as Jürgen Osterhammel,Sebastian Conrad,Dominic Sachsenmaier,Stefan Berger,and Matthias Middell.Then,it offers an overview of German academic institutions and journals focused on global history.It argues that there are two distinctive origins in the study of global history in Germany,including colonial history and area studies respectively.The field of global history was originated in the United States,to be sure.Yet the studies of global history in Germany have their own features,which implies that global history takes in different forms of expression in different regions.However,the“German School of Global History”is still“global”by nature.German global historians interact with English-speaking academic milieu through a variety of ways,and they keep readjusting their studies in order to raise the“German”voice in the global landscape of historical studies.As far as this point is concerned,it serves a good model for global historians in China.
