Study on English translation for the hospital signage in China

医疗卫生机构公示语翻译是否准确规范关乎国家形象。然而,目前国内医疗卫生机构公示语英译问题颇多。鉴于此,文章首先对国内医疗卫生机构公示语英译研究进行了梳理,发现在研究深度、研究广度等方面存在不足。在此基础上,文章对医疗卫生机构公示语英译流程规范进行了探讨,以期为我国医疗卫生机构公示语英译质量的提高提供启发与思路。

The quality and standard of the English interpretation for the hospital signage somehow represents national image.In China,m uch space for improvement of English accuracy in hospital signage still remains.This paper provides a brief review of domestic situation in this issue and suggests further research and measure needs to be taken in order to understand the causes for this issue with depth and breadth.More importantly,this review analyzed how high quality bilingual hospital signage could be generated,w hich may help improve the quality and accuracy of the English usage in hospital signage in China.
