当代语境下个体与超验、团体和自我的抗争——论《布罗迪小姐的青春》的叙事交流与叙事伦理

The Struggle between Individual and Transcendence, Group and Self in Contemporary Context ——On the Narrative Communication and Ethics of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie

小说《布罗迪小姐的青春》一方面采用了全知全能的叙述手法,通过独特的时序安排对人物、情节乃至读者进行影响与掌控;另一方面,小说同时采用了聚焦主要人物桑迪的视点的手法把“讲”和“看”分离,形成对立;桑迪有限制的视点对全知全能的叙述起到反抗和消解作用,把小说人物命运和读者的判读从全知叙述者的控制下解放出来,使人物及读者获得一定的自主性。小说深层文本的意义在这两种互相对抗的叙述中显现出来,体现了当代人如何在自由意志与外在操控力量之间进行抗衡。

The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie,on the one hand,adopts the omniscient narrative technique,which influences and controls the characters,plots and readers through the unique timing arrangement.On the other hand,the novel also adopts the technique of focusing on the viewpoint of Sandy,the main character,to separate“narration”and“seeing”and form the antitheses;Sandyis limited viewpoint plays a role of resistance and deconstruction of the omniscient narration,which liberates the fate of the characters and the interpretation of the readers from the control of the omniscient narrator,and enables the characters and the readers to obtain certain autonomy.The significance of the hidden meaning of the text emerges in these two contrary narratives,which shows how the contemporary people balance between free will and outside dominating force.
