In Professor Liu Jiahe’s research of Confucian Classics,we can find both the continuity of the traditional scholarship emphasizing on the method of philosophy and the skillful application of modern historiography focusing on finding realities in the past.Thanks to his broad and outstandingly sophisticated knowledge and scholarly experiences in the history of worldwide ancient civilizations,He successfully provided new perspectives and methods for further study of many unresolved issues in the study of Confucian Classics.In particular,his methodology called huitong(会通),which is demonstrated in his research of the Confucian Classics,is praiseworthily unique in contemporary scholars’studies of Confucian Classics.In many senses,Professor Liu Jiahe’s scholarship is valuable to modern academic society.
