《百家公案》中的怪异故事是在民间信仰、创作目的、审美取向、题材特点等因素共同作用下产生的。这些故事呈现出数量巨大、内容丰富、别具一格的特点。学界以往多指摘这些故事为“封建迷信”,而缺少较为细致、深入的研究。《百家公案》是包公文学乃至公案小说发展史上产生重大影响的公案小说,怪异故事作为其中不可忽视的一部分,至少在民俗、文学、文献等领域具有重要的研究价值。

Anthology of Detective Stories depicts a large number of unique weird stories due to the multiple factors such as folk belief,creation purpose,aesthetic orientation,topic characteristics and so on.In the past,scholars criticized these stories as“feudal superstitions”.Thus,weird stories were not researched comprehensively.Anthology of Detective Stories has great influences on the development of Bao Gong’s literature and detective novels.As an important part of Anthology of Detective Stories,weird stories are valuable for the research of folklore and literature.
