楚雄师范学院的办学渊源可追溯到1936年10月6日正式成立的省立镇南师范学校,历经楚雄师范学校、楚雄民族师范学校、楚雄师范专科学校、楚雄师范高等专科学校等发展阶段,距今已逾83周年,高等教育办学历史亦超过40年。深刻把握“两个一百年”奋斗目标及“分两步走”的新目标,站在建校100周年和中华人民共和国成立100周年的新的历史节点,楚雄师范学院新的奋斗目标是:坚守立德树人初心,厚植教师教育特色,激发内涵发展活力,努力建设教师教育特色鲜明的高水平应用型大学。

The history of Chuxiong Normal University(CNU)dates back to October 6,1936 when the Provincial Zhennan Normal School was officially founded.During these 83 years it has undergone changes of identities,from Chuxiong Normal School,Chuxiong Normal School of Nationalities,Chuxiong Normal College and Chuxiong Senior Normal College to its present name.For the last four decades it has been a higher education institution.We are now at a pivotal point approaching the first centenary of both CNU and the People’s Republic of China and it is the right time that we grasp the Two Centenary Goals and the new objectives of the Two-step Approach to define goals of CNU:inspire our inherent development momentum to make CNU a high-level application-oriented university with distinctive normal characteristics by adhering to our original goal of developing graduates of moral integrity and highlighting the normal education elements.
