Interaction Constructed Temporal-Spatial Extension and Affect Change: A Multimodal Genre Analysis of Digital Mourning

电子哀悼是在网络上进行的多模态的、互动性的的哀悼和纪念话语活动。基于Kress和van Leeuwen(2006)的多模态分析框架与Bateman(2008)的多模态语类,以电子哀悼网站为例分析了电子哀悼作为一个多维度的新兴话语形式的特征,围绕个例考察了哀悼网站和虚拟墓地的模态,并探讨了多模态元素互动和结合。本研究旨在初步描述、分析和理论化电子哀悼作为一种新兴的话语形式的模态信息,并讨论其如何发展和改造传统的哀悼模式,帮助了解电子哀悼如何在文化历史背景下构建一种对死亡的哀悼、纪念、治愈话语的过程。

Digital mourning is a multimodal,interactive online mourning and commemorative activity.This paper takes digital mourning websites as examples to analyze the multi-layered features of digital mourning as an emerging discourse form based on Kress and van Leeuwen?s analytical model of visual images and Bateman?s mutimodal genre framework,and particularly focuses on the mode of digital mourning websites and virtual cemeteries,as well as the interactive and integrated relations of multimodal elements.This study aims to examine,construe and theorize the modal properties of digital mourning as an emerging genre and discuss how it develops and transforms traditional mourning rituals,so as to help understand how digital mourning constructs a collective experience and a process of mourning,commemorating and healing from death under the current sociocultural background.
