Chinese Merchants in Latin America: History,Present and Prospect

拉丁美洲是中国21世纪"海上丝绸之路"的自然延伸。中国和拉丁美洲国家之间的友谊源远流长。在中国和拉美国家关系史中,华侨华人占有重要地位,拉美华侨华人特别是华商对于促进中国和拉美国家之间的友好往来、增进相互了解、推进"一带一路"建设起了重要的桥梁和纽带作用,但关于拉丁美洲华商的研究一直较为薄弱。拉美华人经济和华商的历史发展进程主要分为两大时期:早期拉美华侨华人与华人经济的兴起时期(1840-1945);战后至21世纪的拉美华侨华人与华人经济发展时期(1945-21世纪)。随着中国改革开放的深化和"一带一路"倡议的实施,中国企业不断走进拉美,拉美华商团体在中国企业投资中起了重要的助推和桥梁作用,也面临新的发展机遇和问题,未来发展趋势值得关注。

Latin America is a natural extension of China’s 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.The friendship between China and Latin American countries has a long history.In the history of relations between China and Latin American countries,overseas Chinese occupy an important position.Overseas Chinese in Latin America,especially Chinese businessmen,have played an important role in promoting friendly exchanges,enhancing mutual understanding and promoting the construction of the Belt and Road.However,the research on Chinese merchants in Latin America is weak.The historical development of the Chinese economy and Chinese merchants in Latin America can be divided into two periods:the early period of the rise of the Chinese and Chinese economy in Latin America(1840-1945);the period of development of the overseas Chinese and Chinese economy in Latin America from 1945 to the 21st century.With the deepening of China’s reform and opening up and the implementation of the Belt and Road initiative,Chinese enterprises have been entering Latin America.Chinese business groups in Latin America have played an important role in boosting and bridging investment of Chinese enterprises.They are also facing new opportunities and problems,and the future development trend is worth paying attention to.
