探析捷兴信局和源兴信局的侨批经营及互相关系

Research on Overseas Remittance Management of Jiexing Postal Office and Yuanxing Postal Office and Their Relations

侨批、银行汇票、银行电汇单和相关文献资料等说明了捷兴信局和源兴信局从1912年到1957年间的经营脉络和彼此之间的关系,展现了两个侨批局在马来亚、新加坡、印尼、菲律宾、香港等地和闽南地区之间建立的网络经营关系,与华侨银行、交通银行等金融机构建立业务关系。源兴信局在经营网络中拓展和完善自己的经营网络系统,以确立自身的市场地位。捷兴信局与华侨银行业务往来的汇票和电汇单,表明其业务能充分利用华侨银行的跨国网络调拨款项,通过调查发现两个经营者有同宗同地缘关系和经营网络的交叉也是业务开展的主因。捷兴、源兴信局在东南亚与闽南地区之间形成一个经营网络,这个经营网络触及闽南人在东南亚侨居地与闽南地区各主要侨乡。这个网络是建立在闽南方言群的基础上,而以地缘和血缘为主的社会资本为其经营网络带来了源源不断的客户。

Overseas remittance,bank bill,bank telegraph money order and other literature resources showed the business operation of Jiexing postal office and the Yuanxing postal office between 1912 and 1957 and their relations.They reflected the business networks established by the two postal offices between areas such as Malaysia,Singapore,Indonesia,Philippines,HongKong and Minnan area.The two postal offices set up business relations with Overseas Chinese Bank and Bank of Communications.Yuanxing postal office gradually expanded and improved the business network to establish its competitiveness in the market.The bank bills and the telegraph money order in the business between Jiexing postal office and Overseas Chinese Bank demonstrated Jiexing’s ability to allocate the funds by fully using the transnational business network of Overseas Chinese Bank.Through investigation it was found the main reason for the two postal offices to develop their business was same origin and same geographic relationship as well as intersect business network.Jiexing and Yuanxing postal office formed business network between South East Asia and Minnan area,which reached the living areas of Minnan people in South East Asia and their overseas hometown in Minnan areas.The network formed on the Minnan dialect groups.Social capital based on geographic relationship and ties of blood brought a steady flow of customers to their business network.
