古老的丝绸之路上的莫高,几个世纪以来,人们在它的悬崖峭壁上开凿出了一系列的堆叠的岩洞。里面充满了古代中国艺术家的智慧结晶,并被后人称之为莫高窟。在这所充满神圣艺术品的殿堂里,空间与美学的体验被紧紧地融合。峭壁上,层层叠叠互相连通的台地面向河谷,并一直向东部延伸。沿着河谷行走的参观者,当他们来到这悬崖之所,仰望之时,以天帷幕,体验到的却是更高的山峰。

For centuries at Moqao,along the Silk Road,the cliffs have been carved,forming a series of stacked chambers filled with the riches of generations of China's artists and artisans.Here,great sacred art is housed,creating a powerful merger of spatial and artistic experiences.The cliffs with their many terraces and connecting stairways look across a river valley to the East.The traveler along the valley comes upon the cliffs against the backdrop of the taller hills and the expansive sky beyond.
