Yuan Bin’s Experience in Treating Allergic Rhinitis in Children

袁斌教授认为,儿童变应性鼻炎属中医"鼻鼽"范畴,该病多由风痰所致,病机可概括为本虚标实,以肺、脾、肾三脏亏虚为本,尤以肺脾气虚显著;以风、痰、热、瘀为标。治疗上需结合小儿生理、病理特点,急性发作期治以祛风化痰,辅以清热、散瘀,方选自拟脱敏汤;慢性缓解期注重健脾补肺,兼以化痰祛风,方用玉屏风散加味,从而减少小儿变应性鼻炎的发作。

Professor Yuan Bin believes that allergic rhinitis in Children belong to the category of "nasal obstruction" of traditional Chinese medicine. Wind-phlegm can lead to the occurrence of the disease. The pathogenesis can be summarized as internal deficiency syndrome and external pathogenic sufficiency. Deficiency of the lung, spleen and kidney is fundamental, especially lung and spleen qi deficiency. External evils refer to wind, phlegm, heat and blood stasis. The treatment should be combined with the physiological and pathological characteristics of children. In acute attack phase, the main therapy is to dispel wind and phlegm, clear heat, eliminate blood stasis with self-made Desensitization Decoction. In the chronic remission stage, spleen and lung should be adjusted and supplemented, and both phlegm and wind pathogenic factors should be removed. The prescription was adjusted with Yupingfeng powder to reduce the incidence of allergic rhinitis in children.
