福柯晚期将视线转向古希腊、古罗马文化,关注自我技术。福柯以自己的理解阐释西方古典学,对书写问题提出了独到的见解,并在此基础上建构其伦理学的大厦。书写作为福柯探讨的重要自我技术手段之一,是精神修炼、塑造自我的重要方式。福柯的伦理学指向自我与自身的关系,把自我看成是建构的过程从而否认自我的先在性本质。福柯的理论思考永远都是面向现实的,关注个体人的。

Late Foucault focus his researches on the culture in ancient Greece and Rome,and give his attention to self-technology.Foucault deeply reviewed his explanation on western Classics from which his ethics derive.Foucault has his own ideas on writing which as an important self-technology means to construct and perfect the self.The ethics of Foucault lay stress on the self itself,and regard oneself as a process of being,at the same time,deny the intrinsic quality of the self.Foucault’s theories exist in reality and always concern for the self.
