美国社区大学图书馆馆藏发展政策分析——以加州伯克利城市学院为例

Collection Development Policy Analysis of Community College Libraries in the United States——A Case Study of Berkeley City College

从图书馆及政策概况、制定目的、馆藏资源概述、馆藏资源选择、馆藏收藏原则、购书经费分配、馆藏保护与剔除、馆际合作与资源共享八方面分析美国加州伯克利城市学院图书馆馆藏发展政策的内容,得出了加州伯克利城市学院图书馆馆藏发展政策具有强调有条件地对外开放、重视建设具备区域特征的特色馆藏、根据馆藏级别规划馆藏空间、强调政策指导地位等特点。同时,以此借鉴对国内高校图书馆提出应坚持以服务教学科研为核心、有条件地面向社会开放、建设具备区域特色的馆藏资源体系、合理规划开放空间、重视馆藏发展政策作用等建议。

This paper analyzes the content of library collection development policy of Berkeley City College,from eight aspects:library and policy overview,development purpose,collection overview,collection selection,collection principles,book purchase funds allocation,collection protection and elimination,in terlibrary cooperation and resource shari ng.The paper points out that the characteristics of the library collection developme nt policy of Berkeley in elude the emphasis on opening to the outside world conditi on ally,the emphasis on building characteristic collect!ons with regional characteristics,the planning of collect!on space structure according to the collection level,and the emphasis on policy guiding status.At the same time,the paper puts forward some suggest!ons,such as insisti ng on serving teachi ng and scie ntific research as the core,ope ning up to the society condition ally,buildi ng collection resource system with regi onal characteristics,planning open space reasonably and paying attention to the function of collection development policy.
