The Historicalness and Typologicalness of Cross-linguistic Change: New Dimensions in Translation Studies

翻译过程是一个语际演变的转化过程。对这一演变过程的描述可以诉诸历史演变和类型演变两种形态。这两个维度分别对应于历史语言学和类型学。研究尝试性地分析了关于这两种演变取向的问题,其中包括动词的及物性与不及物性、述谓与指称、实现与构成以及名动包含和名动分立之间的相互演变,探讨了在翻译研究中实施这两种理论性描述的可能性,籍此进一步拓展翻译的理论研究空间。

Translation is a transformative process of cross-linguistic change. The description of this change can resort to two modes of transformation: the historical and the typological, two dimensions respectively corresponding to historical linguistics and typology. The research is an attempt to make a tentative analysis of the two orientations of cross-linguistic change at issue by addressing the interfacial interplays between the transitive and the intransitive,the predicative and the referential, the realization and the constitution as well as the union and the separation of noun and verb. The applicability of the two dimensions in translation studies is hoped to be proved, anticipating an expansion of the potentials for the theoretical study of translation.
