Medical image storage and retrieval work could not be separated from the computer technology.This paper briefly describes the development,popular algorithms and application in the field of medical image retrieval.Content-Based Image Retrieval and Semantic-Based Image Retrieval have become the current research hotspots.Combining deep learning,artificial neural network and other algorithms to optimize the retrieval technology,this is the future development direction of this field.
