吕译《黄帝内经·素问》“阴”“阳”思想翻译伦理论辩

吕译《黄帝内经·素问》是《黄帝内经·素问》的第一个英译全本。该译本采用如下策略翻译《素问》中一切医理阐释的基础——“阴”“阳”思想:在翻译涵义指虚的“阴”“阳”时,如果该类“阴”“阳”第一次出现,吕译本采用音译加增译的策略,对于随后出现的同性质的“阴”“阳”,该译本则只采用音译;在翻译涵义指实的“阴”“阳”时,吕译本主要采用音译加增译或具体化的策略;在翻译涵义介乎虚实之间的“阴”“阳”时,吕译本采用音译或音译加增译的策略。译者之所以选择上述策略是因为其在《素问》“阴”“阳”思想翻译中秉承了翻译的规范伦理。

"A Complete Translation of The Yellow Emperor′s Classic of Internal Medicine"(Volume 1&2)is the first complete English version of China′s first medical classic——"Huang Di Nei Jing Su wen".While translating the thought of"Yin"and"Yang"on which the original work builds its medical interpretation,this version turns to the following strategies.As for"Yin"and"Yang"denoting something metaphysical this version resorts to transliteration plus addition if"Yin"and"Yang"of this type presents itself for the first time,if not,it employs transliteration only;as for"Yin"and"Yang"denoting something that can be physically perceived,this version adopts transliteration plus addition,or crystallization;as for"Yin"and"Yang"denoting something that is neither metaphysical nor being physically perceived,this version employs transliteration or transliteration plus addition.The ethical principle underlying the above-mentioned strategies is strictly adhering to the normative ethics of translation.
