Florence Nightingale is the founder of modern nursing cause,who is perceived as one of the greatest women in human history.Nightingale Pledge was not written by Nightingale herself,but by Lystra Gretter,a nursing school instructor in Detroit.Lystra Gretter,R.N.,wrote the original pledge in 1893 and later in 1935 Greter made a slight modification to the pledge.The current online version of the pledge is slightly modified on the basis of the 1935 version.Through the appreciation and analysis of the sentence structure,language style,thought content,logic sequence and translation features of the pledge,this paper aims to make people understand the oath more comprehensively and profoundly.
