Ceroplastes rubens is an important hemiptera pest of tea plant in most tea producing provinces of China.As a kind of piercing-sucking insects,the adults and larvae densely attack tea plants,which can lead to sooty mould,seriously affecting the quality and yield of tea.The morphological characteristics,occurrence characteristics and control methods of the pests were introduced in this paper,so as to facilitate the identification and control of the pests for tea farmers.
