Research on Application Case Teaching of Eigenvalues and Eigenvectors in Linear Algebra

线性代数是一门既抽象又应用广泛的数学分支学科,在教学中引入与学生专业相关或者与热门技术领域相关的应用案例,可以极大程度提高学生的学习兴趣,从而提高教学质量,甚至对提高专业后续课程的教学质量也具有积极意义。文章以特征值、特征向量为例,结合MATLAB软件,设计了两个线性代数在当前热门技术领域——搜索引擎和大数据分析中的应用案例;分析了在教学中引入和学生专业学习或生活密切相关的应用案例对提高学生学习兴趣、培养学生思维能力的重要性;并给出了对在教学中引入应用案例可能会遇到的问题的一些思考。

and widely used.Applications of linear algebra related to students'majors or related to popular technology can greatly inspire students'interest in learning,improve the quality of teaching,and even positively improve the teaching quality of students'professional follow-up courses.Taking eigenvalues and eigenvectors as examples,this paper exploits MATLAB software to design two applications of linear algebra in the current popular technology fields:Search Engines and Big Data Analysis.Then,this paper analyzes the importance of introducing applications related to students'majors or life in teaching to improve students'interest in learning and to develop students'ability of thinking.Finally,this paper discusses on problems that may be encountered in introducing applications in the teaching of Linear Algebra.
