摘要
卡罗尔·安·达菲在诗作《原籍何处》中同时消解了自己的苏格兰和英格兰身份,为自己作为诗人寻找一种“居间”的身份。面对“苏格兰”在当代英国社会中遭遇的压制和边缘化,达菲并未如其他苏格兰本土诗人一样,选择强调自己的苏格兰性,而是有意建构了一种“居间”状态,既解构了英格兰强势的主导地位,又避免了用“苏格兰”对抗“英格兰”,在身份认同的问题上建构了一个“居间”的空间。与其他苏格兰诗人相比,达菲有着身处“之外”的清醒与冷静。
In Originally,Carol Ann Duffy negates both her Scottish and English identity and gains an“in-between”identity as a poet.In face of Scotland s oppression and marginalization in the contemporary British society,Duffy intends to construct an“in-between”state,instead of stressing her Scottish identity like other native Scottish poets.This not only deconstructs the dominance of England,but also avoids fighting against England from the Scotland s side,which creates an“in-between”space.Compared with other Scottish poets,she is calmer for being“beyond”.
