摘要
美国新英格兰女作家玛丽·威尔金斯·弗里曼在其短篇故事《一段好时光》中讲述女主人公纳西莎·斯通将父亲遗留的保险金挥霍殆尽,最终不得不回归平淡生活。弗里曼通过刻画纳西莎的自恋心理在消费文化中的表征、消费动机以及消费盛宴的双重影响,真实还原了维多利亚时代景观社会中狂欢式、自恋式的消费,表达其对社会动荡年代女性个体生存境遇与困惑的深度关怀与深切体察。
Mary Wilkins Freeman in her short story One Good Time chronicles Narcissa Stone s spending spree in New York after her father s death and after the draining of her insurance money,she has to return to the old and dull routine of life.Narcissa s narcissism,her extremist consumer behavior in the consumerist ethos,as well as the double influences of her hedonistic consumerism,will be analyzed.
