In Olga Tokarcuk’s masterpiece Immemoria and Other Times,a unique narrative space-time is constructed. It adopts allegorical expression and philosophically thinks about the eternity of time from the historical dimension. The author uses time to write space.Through the investigation of biological rhythm, fate of life and death and religion over time, the inheritance of metaphorical cultural genes is the effective way to realize eternity. The novel reflects the writer’s literary pursuit and philosophical reflection on the pain experienced by Polish villages before and after the two world wars,as well as the writer’s profound thinking on Polish history and nation.
