The "Promise Land" of Anthropologists——The Altai Republic in Southern Siberia

阿尔泰共和国是俄罗斯联邦主体之下的小共和国,作为欧亚大陆的中心,受历史和自然条件影响,该地是多民族、多种生态景观、文明、宗教、文化结构发源、发展、汇聚中心。本文受维克多·特纳的阈限理论的启发,认为阿尔泰地区可以被视为具有特纳所说的"阈限"特征的"缓冲区"(buffer zone)之一。对该地的文化溯源有助于进一步深入了解与该地域相关社群的文明文化发展、社会结构,这一地域的独特文化遗存提醒着研究者应将阿尔泰地区视为人类学家积极开拓、探索与研究的"应许之地"。

The Altai Republic is a small republic that belongs to the Russian Federation.At the center of the Eurasian continent,due to the historical and natural conditions,its land area encompasses the origin,development and convergence of multi-ethnic landscapes,civilizations,religions and cultural structures.Inspired by the theory by Victor Tunner regarding"liminality",the paper proposes that the Altai region can be regarded as one of the world's"buffer zones"that has the characteristics of"liminality".Exploring the cultural traceability of the region will help to further understandingregarding civilization,cultural development as well as social structure of the communities associated with the region.The unique cultural heritage of this region reminds researchers that the Altai region should be regarded as the u promised land"for anthropologists to actively explore and study.
