The Origin of Aesthetics in Remote Ages of China

中国美学起源于上古,从时间上看,上古可分为远古(从人类起源到约8000年前)、中古(从约8000年前到约4000年前)、近古(从约4000年前到约2000年前西周灭亡);从地理上看,在三大自然区、三层台阶、四面向中的地形构成的既相对独立,又与外互动的地理基础,形成了中国型的礼,中国之美在上古之礼中产生出来,经历了从古村古邑到古国方国到王国的演进,形成了以中和为思想核心、以彩陶-青铜-漆器-丝绸-玉为器物核心的美物体系。

The Chinese aesthetics originates from the remote ages which is divided into three periods.The first period is from the origin of human beings to the 8000 years ago,the second period is from the 8000-4000 years ago,and the third is from 4000-2000 year ago when the Western Zhou Dynasty declined.From geography view,three natural regions,three geographical steps,and the centripetal tendency regions were independent and interacted with each other,and shaped the rite in the ancient China,from which the Chinese aesthetics was produced and extended from ancient villages to ancient kingdoms to ancient Dynasties,and finally formed aesthetics system which made Zhong-he(中和)as its central thought,and color-pottery,bronze,lacquer and jade as its beautiful things.
