认知对等视角下介词在政治文本英译中的运用

The Application of Prepositions in the English Translation of Political Texts from the Perspective of Cognitive Equivalence

认知即意义,翻译活动是在传递意义,要保证意义上的一致性就须尽力取得认知上的对等。意象图式作为人类进行概念化与范畴化的基础可为翻译活动提供重要的认知理据,并且丰富译者的心理体验,从而使其进行更为生动、更具创造性的翻译活动。从认知对等的角度以意象图式理论为依据,对政治文本汉英平行语料库中出现的387个介词over和under进行研究,政治文本英译中介词的使用策略可归纳为词汇层面的显性对等策略和语法结构层面的隐性对等策略,包括汉语定中结构、兼语结构和动词结构的意象图式对等策略,以期进一步挖掘意象图式对翻译的指导作用,也为政治文本的英译研究开辟新的角度和路径。

Cognition is meaning,and translation is the transmission of meaning.In order to ensure the consistency of meaning,cognitive equivalence must be achieved.As the basis of human conceptualization and categorization,image schema can provide important cognitive basis for translation activities and enrich translators’psychological experience so as to carry out more vivid and creative translation activities.With graphic images from the perspective of cognitive equivalence theory as the basis,a total of 387 prepositions“over”and“under”from the political text in the Chinese-English parallel corpus as the subject,this study explored and summarized the use of prepositions in political text translation strategy,including dominant peer-to-peer strategy of vocabulary,recessive peer-to-peer strategy at the level of grammatical structure such as Chinese attribute-head noun structure,Chinese causative structure and the verb structure in the image schema peer-to-peer strategy,aiming to further develop the guiding role of image schema in translation and open a new perspective for the study of the translation of political texts.
