Based on the fairy tales of "the cowherd and the weaver girl",Chen Yuanyun,a poet who travelled to Japan in the late Ming Dynasty, created a collection of poems composed of ten regulated verses,"Shuang Xing Yong". This collection of poems obviously inherits the artistic characteristics of a late-Tang-dynasty poet Cao Tang’s"Da You Xian Shi",using a group of seven-syllable regulated verses to narrate a story. It has great significance in the history of poetic development. However, this group of poems did not even get the understanding and appreciation from the author’s friend, the respected monk Gensei,at the time and was buried and forgotten. That is the reason why people think the poems are lost. The author has found its manuscript in Japan, and tries to interpret them in order to explore the emotional world of Yuanyun, who was in a foreign country alone in his later years.
