Joseph Conrad created a series of works based on the sea with his personal sailing experiences. What the characters in these works have in common is that they experienced a crisis of survival or death. These crises brought nightmare wounds to individuals and groups in the works.Based on the theory of trauma narrative, this paper analyzes the individual and collective of the seamen in Conrad’s marine novels, and compares their healing methods and results, thus providing another perspective for the interpretation of Conrad’s works.
