An Investigation of Recreational Activities and the Anti-Japanese War in Henan

游艺会是一种组织者因不同目的而邀请不同团体同台演出的娱乐活动,形式多种多样,极具吸引力,比空口白说更能感染观众。有鉴于游艺会的宣传功能,政府对艺人及其演出内容进行严格培训和审定,赋予游艺会社会教育的政治重任。在它的感召下,民众以极大热情投身于救亡运动,成为抗战胜利的积极因素之一。

The entertainment club was to organize activities in which different groups were invited to per⁃form on the same stage for different purposes.The activities were diverse and more attractive to the audience than the vernacular speech.In view of the publicizing function of the entertainment club,the artists and their performances were strictly trained and examined by the government,the entertainment club endowed with a po⁃litical responsibility of social education.Under its inspiration,the public devoted themselves to the national sal⁃vation movement with great enthusiasm and became a positive force in the victory of Anti-Japanese War.
