Sino-Japanese Relations in the New Era:Essence and Major Channels

中日双方经过数年努力,终于迎来两国关系发展的新时代。本次两国关系改善是两国领导人亲力亲为的结果,改善的路径也因此带有“自上而下”的突出特点。日本社会各界在改善关系方面仍存在不同程度的认识差距,而这些差距在两国外交实践中又具体表现为诸种“失衡”,亟待解决与克服。面对中国领导人即将对日本进行国事访问,以及2020年到2022年中日关系大事叠加的敏感时间段,今后双方能否持续稳步地相向而行,能否为指导、约束和规范新时代的中日关系制定出继往开来的新政治文件,自然是人们高度关注的重要议题。面对世界百年未有之变局,中日应当同舟共济,努力创造美好世界;应当深化互利合作关系,共同维护正常的国际秩序;应当担负起新时代的历史责任,求同存异,妥善解决争端问题;应当坚持多元共生的文明观,以东方智慧积极寻求精神融合。

Throughout years of effort,both China and Japan have witnessed the coming of a new era of the bilateral relationsThe current improvement of Sino-Japanese is the result of political leaders’ efforts of both countries,characterized with a “top-down” processAt present,there are still some differences in the improvement of relations between China and Japan,which are reflected by various “imbalances” in the diplomatic practice and need to be solvedWith the upcoming state visit of the Chinese leader to Japan and in the context of consecutive events for the bilateral relations from the year 2020 to 2022,it is a major issue of great concern for both sides to continue to move steadily toward each other and work out a new political document to guide the Sino-Japanese relations in the new eraIt is believed that China and Japan should work together to create a better world which is under unprecedented changes in the recent one century,by deepening mutually beneficial cooperative relations and jointly maintaining normal international mechanisms and orderBoth China and Japan should take the historical responsibility of the new era and seek common ground while reserving differences and properly resolve disputesBoth sides should also adhere to the pluralistic and symbiotic view of civilization and actively seek spiritual integration with the traditional wisdom.
