Objective To evaluate the use of alkalinized lidocaine accompany with levobupivacaine for ocular orthopedic surgery. Methods 25 patients underwent ocular orthopedic surgeries from October 2018 to April 2019 were elected as the objectives. A combination of 2 mL 5% sodium bicarbonate, 5 mL 2% lidocaine with 1:100 000 0.1% epinephrine was injected in the surgical area for local anesthesia. And 0.75% levobupivacaine was then injected in the surgical area again. Wong-Baker faces pain rating scale(WBS) was used to evaluate patients’ pain. The WBS score was recorded during injection of anesthetic and when surgeries were finished. One sample t-test was used to analyze the records, and P < 0.05 was considered the difference was statistically significant. Results During injection of anesthetic, the WBS score was(1.77±0.65) points, patients feel no pain or just tiny pain(P =0.00);when surgeries were finished, the WBS score was(2.15±0.97) points, patients feel tiny pain or little pain(P =0.00). Conclusion The successive local infiltration of alkalinized lidocaine and levobupivacaine in ocular orthopedic surgery could ease the pain effectively during injection of anesthetic, and maintain anesthesia, which provided fine effect of painless in ordinary ocular orthopedic surgeries.
