身份建构视角下的毛泽东诗词翻译与出版策略——以英译《七律·到韶山》为例

Translation and Publication Strategies of Mao Zedong Poetry from an Identity Construction Perspective: A Case Study of Shaoshan Revisited

现代翻译理论认为,文学翻译的译者通过多种途径的改写,制控作者的文学名声,塑造作者形象,建构、重构作者身份。受译者所处时期意识形态、诗学形态与文献资料等方面的限制,不同的毛泽东诗词英译本呈现出有差异的毛泽东身份观,其中不乏缺失、偏颇甚至谬误之虞。以《七律·到韶山》为例,对比分析现有多个译本在建构毛泽东身份方面的得失可以窥见,毛泽东诗词的外译出版,应以建构正确的毛泽东身份为导向,以文献为基础,从社会实际出发,甄选毛泽东诗词译文,精心编撰副文本,出版适应中国文化走出去与文化自信等时代要求的毛泽东诗词英译本。

According to modern translation theories,literature translation is rewriting,which manipulates literary reputation of the author,depicts the image and constructs or reconstructs the identity of the author.Restricted by the ideological and/or poetic currents of the translator's times,different English versions of Mao Zedong Poems are loaded with varied values toward Mao Zedong identity,among which there are neglected,biased and even mistaken understandings.Taking Shaoshan Revisited as an example and analyzing the advantages and defects of the chosen versions through a comparative study reveals that in order to construct authentic and accurate Mao Zedong identity through translated English versions of Mao poetry,translators should base upon research literature,take social reality into consideration,select concise translations of the poetry,compose and compile reliable para texts,and thus achieve the target of English versions of Mao poetry which respond to the requirements of “Chinese culture going abroad”and “cultural conscience” in the new era.
