On the Evolution of the Relation Between Yongzheng Emperor and Chancellor Longkeduo

在康熙末年的夺位之争中,隆科多拥护雍正顺利地继承皇位,并助他稳定了京师局势。雍正即位之后,对隆科多荣宠备至,但隆科多恃宠生骄,不断通过擅权、结党等方式发展个人势力。这不仅严重动摇了皇权统治,也使得君臣关系发生了改变,最终隆科多被雍正囚禁至死。二者关系由亲密走向对立,不仅是隆科多个人行为不羁所致,也是君臣权力冲突的必然结果。

In the struggle for the throne at the end of Kangxi Emperor’s reign,Longkeduo supported Yongzheng Emperor to succeed to the throne and helped him stabilize the situation in the capital.After Yongzheng Emperor ascended the throne,he was full of honor and favor for Longkeduo.However,relying on his favor and arrogance,Longkeduo constantly developed his personal power by means of power abuse and clique,which seriously shook the imperial rule and changed the relationship between the monarch and the minister.As a result,Longkeduo was imprisoned to death by Yongzheng Emperor.It is not only the result of rondo’s uninhibited behavior,but also the inevitable result of the power conflict between emperor and minister.
