Logic and strategy: a comparative analysis of the political identity of youth in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao

国庆前后的深圳、香港、澳门青年的表现为研究政治认同提供绝佳样本。深圳青年爱国热情迸发,像过年一样沉浸在国庆的吉祥和欢乐之中。一河之隔的香港,发生大规模的骚乱,青年成为反中反特区政府暴乱的主角。与香港隔海相望的澳门,不受香港乱局的影响,社会安宁,青年人爱国热情高涨。比较分析同一时间节点上强烈的行为反差,昭示着政治认同的一些基本逻辑:良好发展预期是政治认同的决定性因素,民生状况的感受是政治认同的第一判断,鲜明度和引领性是政治认同的前提和基础。尽管三个城市社会制度各不相同,且历史背景和现实问题也显著差异,但青年政治认同的逻辑是相同的,提升政治认同策略也必然殊途同归。

The performance of young people in Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Macao before and after National Day provides an excellent sample for the study of political identity. The young people in Shenzhen were immersed in great joy of the National Day just like the Spring Festival due to their strong patriotic enthusiasm. Across the river in Hong Kong, there were large-scale riots and young people became the protagonists of the riots against China and the SAR government. Macao, which is across the sea from Hong Kong, is not affected by the chaos in Hong Kong. The society is peaceful, and its young people are full of patriotic enthusiasm. The comparative analysis on their different behaviors at the same point of time shows some basic logic of political identity: good development expectation is the decisive factor of political identity;the feeling of people’s livelihood is the first judging criterion of political identity;and the distinctiveness and leading nature are the premise and foundation of political identity. Although the social systems of the three cities are different, and their historical background and practical problems differ significantly, the logic of young people’s political identity is the same, and the strategy of improving political identity will inevitably lead to the same goal.
