The paper introduced the duties of nurse assistant,professional operating nurses,registered nurses,practicing nurses,travel nurses and specialist nurse in the USA.It was showed that diverse clinical nursing post,specific division of responsibilities,clear selfpositioning of nurses,completed nursing job training system,which all could provide significant reference for nursing profession development in China,especially in the clinical nursing post category and hierarchy setting,nursing education system,specialist nurses and nurse multi-sited practice.
