Stages and Related Knowledge of Cuntou Site

本文将村头遗址的出土器物划分为五期,其中村头第一期至村头第四期可以用村头类型而概括之,承袭了珠江三角洲本地的文化传统,还不断吸收了来自长江下游地区同期文化的新因素而成的,发展线索基本清晰,而且未见明显缺环;大体分布于沿西江、东江、北江干流流经的区域以及珠江三角洲地区。村头类型的年代在3800多年至中商时期,村头第五期已经进入晚商阶段,而且文化面貌及来源有待探究。

The author divides the artifacts unearthed from Cuntou Site into five stages,among which the first four stages can be summarized by the type of Cuntou,inheriting the local cultural tradition of the Pearl River Delta,and constantly absorbing new factors from the same period of culture in the lower reaches of the Yangtze River.The clues for development are basically clear without obvious missing link;they are mainly distributed along the main streams of the Xijiang,Dongjiang and Beijiang rivers and in the Pearl River Delta.The type of Cuntou has a histo-ry for over 3800 years,dating back to the Middle Shang Dynasty.The Village-end of the fifth stage has entered the late Shang Dynasty,and its cultural features and sources need to be explored.
