Based on the concept of case-based teaching, using corpus and micro-genetic methods, the present study takes a one-year chronological teaching practice with the platform of www.pigai.org and explores the vocabulary acquisition status of business English majors from the perspective of productive vocabulary. The study found that the lexical richness and lexical difficulty of the students’productive vocabulary during the observation period generally showed an upward trend, and the average word length, average sentence length and the clause density fluctuated obviously;there is a significant positive correlation between lexical richness and lexical difficulty, average sentence length and clause density, lexical difficulty and number of tests;the fluctuation of students’lexical richness is relatively large, and the fluctuation of lexical difficulty and average word length are relatively gentle. In addition, common vocabulary and sub-common vocabulary in general English vocabulary account for a large proportion of students’productive vocabulary, and the development of students’general English vocabulary tends to be stable. The frequency of business English vocabulary and international communication English vocabulary in the students’productive vocabulary fluctuated slowly during the observation, and increased sharply in the later stage of the observation.
