摘要
近代中国科学的转型以学习和引进西方科学为基础,清政府实施“新政”,在全国范围创办高等学堂,推行科学教育,对西学在中国的传播起到了积极推动作用。山西大学堂作为中国最早创建的三所大学堂之一,率先开展了科学教育活动。文章从科学课程设置、引进科学仪器、编译科学教材等三个维度进行考察,分析中国近代高等学堂开展的科学教育活动之于西学在中国传播过程中的作用和影响。
The transformation of modern Chinese science is based on the study and introduction of Western science.The Qing government,implementing the“New Deal”,established institutions of higher education and initiated science education nationwide,which has played a positive role in promoting the spread of Western learning in modern China.Shanxi University as one of the first three universities in China,took the lead in carrying out science education activities.This article makes an investigation of the design of science curriculum,purchase of scientific instruments and compilation of science textbooks in Shanxi University to analyze the role and influence of science education activities carried out by modern Chinese institutions of higher education in and on the spread of Western learning in modern China.
