摘要
形象(Image)是对认知对象(例如,自然物体或者人为创造物)的感官印象、感知或想法,以及语言层面的概念、判断和结论,甚至理论。破碎的法国形象是一种图式化的、戏剧化的形象。莎士比亚在《亨利五世》一剧中表示,想象的法国形象是相对于英国形象而存在的,即统一的英吉利与分裂的法兰西形成了强有力对比的民族形象。在阿金库尔战役前后,网球是一个法国式的象征形象;法国王太子路易部分是法国的象征,法国宫廷的象征人物。法语的已衰落地位、赞美的诗与恋爱中的十四行诗、巴洛克式的夸张语言、法国式行为与风俗(跳舞、戴假发等)、不恰当的对英国的傲慢态度,法国式吹牛(夸耀)与怯弱等构成了整体的、刻板印象的法兰西形象。
The image is the sensory impressions,perceptions,or ideas of cognitive objects( for example,natural objects or artificial creations),as well as concepts,judgments,conclusions,and even theories at the linguistic level. The broken French image is a graphical,dramatic image. In The Life of King Henry the Fifth,Shakespeare said that the image of France existed relatively to the image of Britain,that is,the unified England and the split France formed strongly contrasting national images.Around the Agincourt Battle,tennis was a French-style symbol;the Dauphin Lewis was partly a symbol of France and a symbol of the French court. The decline of French language,the poems of praise and the sonnets in love,the Baroque exaggerated language,the French behavior and customs( dancing,wearing wigs,etc.),the inappropriate arrogance to the British, the French-style bragging and cowardice constituted the stereotyped image of France.
