摘要
图书馆学的引进和本土化受益于归国留学生的倡导和推动。中国早期职业图书馆员的培养深受美国影响,赴美习图书馆学在民国时期始开风潮。文章以1924年武昌文华大学图书科本土培养的图书馆员裘开明赴美为界,将民国时期赴美的图书馆学人分为前后两代。相较于第一代,第二代赴美的图书馆员数量倍增,且群体性特征更为突出。文章通过对海内外相关史料钩沉,统计出赴美的第二代图书馆学人名单,并结合史实,系统分析了赴美第二代图书馆学人的出洋背景、留美途径、在美经历、影响与贡献。
The introduction and localization of library science has benefited a lot from the advocacy and promotion of returned students. The cultivation of early professional librarians in China was deeply influenced by the United States, and the study of library science in the United States began a trend in the Republic of China.In 1924, Alfred K’aiming Ch’iu who was a librarian trained locally in the library department of Wuchang Mandarin University,went to study in the USA. This article takes it as a dividing line and divides the library scholars who went to study in the United States during the Republic of China into two generations. Compared with the first generation, the number of librarians who went to the United States in the second generation has doubled, and the group characteristics are more prominent. This article analyzes the relevant historical materials at home and abroad, compiles a list of second-generation library scholars going to the United States, and combines historical facts to systematically analyze the background of the second-generation library scholars going to the United States, their ways of studying abroad, their experiences in the United States,their impacts and contributions.
