Objective To investigate the application effect of viscose foam dressing in patients with laryngeal cancer undergoing tracheotomy. Methods We selected 60 cases of patients with laryngeal cancer undergoing tracheotomy treated in our hospital from January 2017 to August 2018.They were randomly divided into a control group and a test group. The control group was given a dressing change with traditional sterile gauze, and the test group was given a dressing change with viscose foam dressing. The comfort, the frequency of dressing changes, the time of stoma healing, the incidence of infections, the cost of dressing changes, and the satisfaction were compared between the two groups. Results The the times of dressing change in the test group was less than that in the control group, the comfort and satisfaction were higher than those in the control group, the time of stoma healing was shorter than that in the control group, the incidence of infections was lower than that in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the cost of dressing changes between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion The application of viscose foam dressing could reduce the frequency of dressing changes in patients with laryngeal cancer undergoing tracheotomy, shorten the time of stoma healing, improve patient's comfort, reduce the incidence of patient's infection, and improve the efficiency of nursing work, making patients more satisfied, which was worthy of clinical promotion and application.
