Loving Couple as They are,Great Passion as They Have for Library:An Interview with Professor Tan Xiangjin and Zhao Yanqun

谭祥金、赵燕群夫妇于1959年考入武汉大学图书馆学系(现为武汉大学信息管理学院)。毕业后二人被分配至北京,谭祥金任职于北京图书馆(现为国家图书馆),赵燕群先后任职于铁道部科技情报所和北京师范大学。1988年,夫妻二人南下广州,谭祥金转任中山大学图书馆学系(现为中山大学资讯管理学院)系主任,赵燕群就职于中山大学图书馆,任馆长。二人为中国图书馆建设、图书馆学研究和图书馆学教育做出了重要贡献。本访谈系《谭祥金赵燕群口述史》一书的部分精选,将展现其在武大求学、北上南下任职以及退休之后的经历。

Tan Xiangjin and Zhao Yanqun were admitted to the Department of Library Science of Wuhan University in 1959(now the School of Information Management of Wuhan University).After graduation,they were assigned to Beijing,and Tan Xiangjin worked at the National Library of China.Zhao Yanqun worked in the Sci-tech Information Institute of The Ministry of Railway and Beijing Normal University.In 1988,the couple went to Guangzhou,and Tan Xiangjin was Dean the Department of Library Science of Sun Yat-sen University(now the School of Information Management of Sun Yat-sen University).Zhao Yanqun became the director of Sun Yat-sen University Library.The two made important contributions to the construction of Chinese libraries,Library Science research and Library Science education.This interview is a part of the selection of Oral History of Tan Xiangjin and Zhao Yanqun,which will showcase their experiences on studying in Wuhan University,working in Beijing and Guangzhou,and retirement.
