摘要
Central Asia has been a key link between the ancient east and west,an important stage for neighbouring civilizations and peoples to communicate and amalgamate,and an arena for all infl uential Eurasian empires to contend for power,as well as an everlasting area for the confrontation and blending between nomadic civilizations and agricultural civilizations.It has bred a series of world-wide empires,for which it was entitled with a unique and important role in the history of world civilization.From the mid and late 20th century on,scholars started paying more attention to the history of Central Asia,re-exploring and rewriting the history of the region and its individual countries,with the compiling of general history being one of the most important tools for the study of regional history.
