摘要
《祖国-母亲》和《自由女神像》分别为苏联和美国的标志性城市雕塑作品,是世界城市雕塑的两座丰碑。其雕塑本体、规模用途和建成背景、象征意义各不相同,但这两者都是体现雕塑公共性与纪念碑性的典范。时至今日,《祖国-母亲》在世界上的影响力还是弱于《自由女神像》,这反映了两者背后的意识形态差异和两国在这一领域的激烈竞争。
"The Motherland Calls"and"Statue of Liberty"are respectively the landmark urban sculptures of the Soviet Union and the United States.They are two monuments of urban sculpture in the world.Though the sculpture noumenon,purpose,construction background and symbolic significance are different,both of them are models of sculpture publicity and monumentality.To this day,the influence of"The Motherland Calls"in the world is still weaker than that of"Statue of Liberty",which reflects the ideological differences behind the two countries and the fierce competition in this field.
