On the Man Connotation of Humanism in the Renaissance

文艺复兴时期人文主义宣扬人是高贵的,人的高贵在于主宰世界、在于人的智慧,人可以依靠自己的智慧和力量,改造、完美这个世界;倡导人的意志自由,认为人能够依靠自己的力量、智慧和能力与命运女神抗争,人应该拥有主宰自己命运并为自己命运负责的自由;阐发世俗人思想,主张人生目的是追求现世的世俗幸福和欢乐,财富对现实生活具有重要作用,财富是道德的基础,人应关注世俗的社会生活,成为社会人,能通过自己的努力实现人的理想、价值和生命的意义;提出全人观念,认为人应该是全面发展的人,把人作为教育的根本出发点,提出意志自由人的教育理念,主张自由教育的目的根本是培养全面发展的自由人。文艺复兴时期人文主义把人的内涵最终定义在高贵人、意志自由人、世俗人,全面发展人的范围之内,赋予了人新的内涵。

Renaissance humanism advocates the nobility of person,thinking that the nobility of person lies in the domination of the world and the wisdom of person and that people can rely on their own wisdom and strength to transform and perfect the world.It advocates the freedom of human will,holding that human beings can rely on their own strength,wisdom and ability to fight against the goddess of destiny and that people should have the freedom to dominate and be responsible for their own destiny.It also elucidates the secular people’s thoughts and asserts that the purpose of life is to pursue secular happiness and joy;wealth plays an important role in real life;wealth is the foundation of morality;people should pay attention to the secular social life,become social people,and realize the ideal,value and meaning of life through their own efforts.Renaissance humanism puts forward the concept of the whole person,believing that man should be a person who develops in an all-round way,and regards people as the basic starting point of education.It also puts forward the education concept of a free-willed person,and advocates that the purpose of free education is to cultivate a person who is fully developed.In short,the Renaissance humanism finally defined human connotation within the scope of noble,free-willed,secular,and comprehensive development of human beings,and endowed people with new connotations.
