Design of a Ku-band 100 W GaN Transmitter

摘要 针对砷化镓发射机体积大的问题,基于氮化镓功率放大器芯片,研制了一款Ku频段小型化100 W发射机。在改进型波导E-T结和波导-微带探针过渡结构基础上,提出了一种新型四路功率分配/合成结构。发射机机箱采用三明治结构,使用Icepak软件对整机进行了热仿真分析。经测试,发射机在13.75~14.5 GHz频率范围内输出功率大于126 W,整机功率合成效率大于91%。 Considering the problem of large dimensions of GaAs transmitter,a Ku-band miniaturized 100 W transmitter is developed based on a GaN power amplifier chip.A novel four-way power allocation/combining structure is introduced,which is based on improved waveguide E-plane T-junction and waveguide-microstrip probe transition structure.A sandwich structure is adopted in the design of cabinet structure.The thermal simulation analysis of the transmitter is simulated by means of Icepak software.The tested output power of this transmitter is more than 126 W in 13.75~14.5 GHz,and the corresponding power combining efficiency is more than 91%.
