摘要
I am a professor teaching at the Minzu University of China in Beijing.I got to know about China Today because of its late editor-in-chief emeritus Israel Epstein,whose stories with Soong Ching Ling and her magazine I read a lot of before coming to China.To me,China Today is like a window for foreigners to look into China and learn about it from different angles,including its politics,economy,culture,and society.Then in 2015,I was interviewed by your reporter on a press conference at the launch of my new book Stories from My Chinese Journey.Since coming to China from the U.S.in 2005,I have traveled to 27 provinces,autonomous regions,and municipalities in China.That experience has greatly inspired me to write more than 70 American-style folk songs with lyrics about unforgettable journeys,hospitable Chinese people,and impressive landscapes.
