本文是美国艺术史家、批评家及策展人道格拉斯·克林普(Douglas Crimp,1944—2019)的代表著作《在博物馆的废墟上》中译本的译后记,译者在此文中概述他的生平及其在后现代艺术批评领域的贡献。克林普在20世纪80年代的研究成果主要体现于《在博物馆的废墟上》文集中,分为导论、博物馆里的摄影、雕塑的终结、后现代史4个部分,阐释建立在福柯博物馆考古学基础上的后现代主义视觉艺术理论。
This article is a translation postscript of On the Museum’s Ruins,the magnum opus of Douglas Crimp(1944-2019),American art historian,critic and curator.The translator summarizes his life and contribution in the field of post-modern art criticism.The research achievements of Mr.Crimp in the 1980s are mainly reflected in the book On the Museum’s Ruins,which consists of four parts:introduction,photography in museums,the end of sculpture and postmodern history.The book’s project is to elucidate a theory of postmodernism in the visual arts based on a Foucauldian archeology of the museum.
